Happy New Year-ish!

2023 is a Big Year for my family. We have three seniors, all graduating in June: two high schoolers and a college senior. In addition, we're sandwiched between our kids, and also supporting parents as they cope with illness and navigate life changes. Work is going well, but I wish I could do more of it!

When asked how I am doing, I usually respond, "I'm just trying to follow my own advice." I'm coping by taking it one day at a time, engaging daily in self-care, adjusting my expectations and by focusing on my most important tasks.
I wanted to pursue big business goals and opportunities this year. But reality set in real quick. This is not the year for that. My intention for this year is to be present with my family as we celebrate and cope with transitions and challenges. Taking on additional obligations and stress this year won't get me closer to my intention.

A painful but necessary decision was to not take on any new retreat clients until 2024. Instead I'm focusing on individual coaching and a newly launched small group coaching option for employers (see more on that below). I sought help with my website and copywriting, and bookkeeping. A virtual assistant may be in my future. I also pushed to complete some projects that were burning a hole in my to-do list. I took three-day work retreats in January and February to get caught up on year end tasks and situated for the year to come.

Intentions need to be rooted in reality. There is no "arriving" at ambitious horizons in the short term. Horizons represent a long term wide-angle viewpoint. We can continue moving toward horizons, and also let ourselves take in the beautiful view, feel the cool breeze and engage with our traveling companions along the way. Life itself is passing by. I want to be right there in the moment with my loved ones and not miss a single minute. It requires slowing down, limiting what's on my plate, self-care and actively working to decrease stress.

❝ Keeping our eye on the horizon allows flexibility to respond to new opportunities and keep us moving in the direction of our intentions.

Keeping our eye on the horizon allows flexibility to keep moving in the direction of our intentions while also seeing and responding to new opportunities. Check out my latest blog post, reflecting on valuable life lessons I learned from my dad during our ski boat driving lessons. In this post, I delve into "Intentions and Horizons" and how these apply to driving a boat and also to the pursuit of ambitions and a meaningful life.

2023 Individual Coaching Services

Productivity Coaching helps clients discern and promote priorities to guide time management and workflow. Clients learn and implement better delegation and supervision skills, identify and communicate boundaries and manage their own and others’ expectations. I also encourage clients to attend to their life outside of work to engage in rest, relaxation, social connection and fun. Working in all of these areas in coaching supports and boosts “productivity” and also helps create the conditions for a more satisfying approach to work and life.

This year I'm offering three coaching engagement options for individuals:

Coaching Subscription

The most comprehensive option, a Coaching Subscription includes three hours of Premium Maintenance Coaching and one hour of flexible Single Session Coaching (NEW!) It also includes a written Coaching Outline, Session Summaries and a Return on Investment Summary, all prepared by me for the client. A Coaching Subscription can be completed in six to nine months.

Individual Coaching Engagement

An Individual Coaching Engagement provides a complete coaching experience in four to six months. It includes a written Coaching Outline and Session Summaries prepared by me. And, a "Return on Investment" worksheet prepared by the client.

Introductory Coaching Engagement

Smaller in scope and duration, taking only about two to three months to complete, an Introductory Coaching Engagement includes a written Coaching Outline and Session Summaries prepared by me. I provide a "Reflection" worksheet for the client to complete. Premium or Basic Maintenance Coaching may be purchased separately by Individual or Introductory Coaching clients.
